Privacy Policy — Rage Against Cliché

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Rage Against Cliché (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website RageAgainstCliche.com, related pages (including dynamic client pages at /clients/{slug}), products, and services.
By using this site, you consent to the practices described below.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways:

A) Information you provide (forms)

  • Identifying information (e.g., name, email, country) that you submit via contact forms, sign-ups, or similar.

B) Usage data (automatic)

  • Device and browser data (e.g., browser type, device/OS, language), general region, pages viewed, time on page, and on-site interactions.

  • Collected primarily via Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and similar tools.

C) QR/NFC & campaign parameters (non-personal)

  • When you scan a QR code or tap an NFC tag on venue placards, the page URL may include non-personal parameters such as:

    • src (source, e.g., qr or nfc)

    • med (medium, e.g., placard)

    • cmp (campaign name)

    • cnt (placement, e.g., front_door, bar_counter)

    • code (internal short code, e.g., sk8-nfc-01)

  • These values help us understand which placard or placement was used. They are not used to identify a specific person, and we instruct partners not to include names, emails, phone numbers, or other PII in these parameters.

We do not intentionally collect or store personal data through QR/NFC parameters or analytics events, and we ask you not to include any personal information in URLs or form fields intended for analytics.

3. How We Use Information

We process information to:

  • Provide and improve the site, pages, and features you request.

  • Respond to inquiries and provide customer support.

  • Analyze performance and engagement (e.g., which client pages are visited and which buttons—like Google Review, Instagram, etc.—receive clicks).

  • Maintain site security and prevent abuse/fraud.

  • Comply with legal obligations.

Analytics events. On client pages we may log non-personal analytics events such as:

  • client_view (page load with non-personal campaign parameters), and

  • client_link_click (button clicks, including the button label and destination URL).

We do not sell or rent personal data.

4. Data Storage and Retention

We store information on secure systems and retain it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Data collected via third-party tools (e.g., GA4) is retained according to those providers’ settings/policies.

5. Third-Party Sharing

We share information with trusted service providers that help operate our site and analytics, including:

  • Website hosting & platform (e.g., Wix)

  • Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics 4)

  • Email service providers (if used)

These providers are authorized to process data on our behalf and must protect it consistent with this policy. We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights, property, or safety.

6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and understand usage. Cookies may measure:

  • Session state and preferences

  • Traffic and engagement metrics

  • Campaign performance from QR/NFC/links

You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking cookies may affect site functionality.

7. Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

We use GA4 to measure aggregated usage of our site and client pages. GA4 may set cookies and process usage data described above. GA4 reporting does not expose IP addresses in reports.

Important: We configure analytics and our URLs to avoid the collection of personal information. Please do not include names, emails, phone numbers, or any PII in page URLs, QR/NFC parameters, or analytics events.

8. Your Choices

  • Opt out of analytics: Install the GA opt-out add-on (link above) or use privacy settings/extensions in your browser.

  • Cookie controls: Manage cookies in your browser; if we display a consent banner in your region, your preferences will be honored.

  • Communications: If you subscribed to emails, you can unsubscribe via the links in those emails.

9. Your Privacy Rights

GDPR/EEA/UK: Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port certain data, and to object or withdraw consent where applicable.
California and certain U.S. States (e.g., CA/CO/CT/VA): You may have rights to know, access, delete, and, where relevant, opt out of certain processing. We do not “sell” personal information or “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by applicable laws.

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and you use the site at your own risk.

This site is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected it, we will delete it promptly.
